Port City Greening – Decarbonisation in the Maritime Industry

As one of the world’s busiest ports, Singapore plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of maritime sustainability. This narrative track focuses on advancing low-carbon pathways for Singapore’s maritime ecosystem. Experts will explore the latest innovations in electrification, clean fuels, smart operations, and green ship design, drawing on collaborations between academia, industry, and government. Attendees will gain insights into how Singapore is positioning itself as a global leader in maritime decarbonisation, paving the way for greener trade and port city ecosystems.

10 December 2025 (Wednesday)

Building Digital Resilience in the Age of AI

A key pillar to sustainability in AI is the resilience in protecting fundamental freedoms as well as safety in online public spaces. This has become increasingly important in the face of growing concerns around deepfakes and the impact of chatbots on our societal wellbeing.  Deepfakes could be misused in a number of ways, as tech-facilitated sexual violence to by criminal syndicates in scams and fraud operations.  Safeguarding our digital public space as well as the use of AI will call for a range of interventions.  Join our discussion to explore multifaceted considerations from scaling technical challenges in detecting deepfakes that are problematic in context, to ensuring the right incentives of technology providers across the supply chain to address appropriate risks, and the education and awareness of people as the last mile.

9 December 2025 (Tuesday)

Mentorship as a Catalyst for Scientific Excellence

Behind every great scientific achievement lies the power of mentorship. This session explores how mentorship serves as a catalyst for scientific excellence and innovation, shaping resilient and collaborative research communities across the globe. Through insights drawn from diverse institutional and cultural contexts, participants will discover how effective mentorship models and purposeful guidance can nurture early-career scientists, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthen the global scientific ecosystem.
